Not at all sure what in our new interface is "Windows 8". I can assure you that the UI formerly known as Metro was never an inspiration for our applications UI redesign. We provided larger tool buttons (As an option) with text underneath them because we have discovered in our user testing that people have problems figuring out how to use the product especially when starting and we figured we would do our best to help out. In regards to the narrow resizing borders this is an issue we are working on to fix before the release. One of my favorite changes with the new UI is locating the toolbars related to specific windows inside the document border because with this solution the document area doesn't change size as you switch around different windows with different number of tool bars.
