In short, yes, Toad for MySQL does allow you to connect to MariaDB! A bit of background, I found a Twitter conversation in which user was asking about Toad for MySQL and MariaDB support.  While we don’t explicitly claim support, I did do a little science experiment (nice HUSTLE!), and found that connecting Toad for MySQL to both MariaDB and MySQL is not a problem at all. For this example I downloaded and installed the following: Toad for MySQL 7.3 MySQL MariaDB One key change, I had MySQL running on the default TCP port 3306.  To run both MySQL on the default port and MariaDB without issue, during install of MariaDB, I set the TCP port to 3307 (or any open port) so as not to interfere with my current MySQL installation like so: After that minor change and following the default installs for all tools, I was able to register database connections to both MySQL and MariaDB in Toad for MySQL! Let me know if this is useful, if it is we may consider adding and more fully supporting MariaDB.  Enjoy! -Brad
