UI Performance Review

I'm not exactly sure how to even describe this, but I would probably have it at the top of my list of things I'd like to see in Toad. The overall functionality, features and stability in the current release is really good, but I constantly find the UI performance of Toad to be an issue. No other Windows application I've worked with performs like Toad. I'm referring to the following things specifically: 1. Very poor performance when using Remote Desktop - I generally use Remote Desktop to connect from my home computer to me work computer if I am working remotely, and when using Toad the screen refreshes are extremely slow, for example if I open a new connection the entire screen slowly grays out (transparently) before the New Connection dialog is displayed. This mode of covering up the rest of the screen when opening a dialog is likely responsible for the other issues I see. 2. Screen flashes when code-completion dialogs pop up - there is a screen flash where Toad appears to disappear momentarily (I see whatever is behind Toad for a moment). 3. Unpredictable keystroke performance - I find that I need to often press Ctrl-C multiple times before things copy, otherwise I'll go to paste and the clipboard is empty. 4. Mouse clicks that do nothing - the most common one is when trying to close a tab in the Editor, I'll often see the mouse cursor flashing when I hover over the X when trying to close a tab, and I'll have to click a few times before the tab actually closes. I would emphasize that I only see these issues with Toad, other applications are all working normally. It seems like there is a UI library or framework being used that is just not very good and maybe it's time to get rid of it and use native Windows Forms functionality?
